Is it really as bad as all that? I understand in our circle the rabble is usually kept at a safe distance, and I am particularly bad about traveling little in the 'real world' (that is, of late it's been home and work and nothing else) but why, I haven't heard even mutterings among the underclasses. Martial law, honestly?

I would like to take the opportunity to offer my thanks to everyone who has congratulated me on my new position as Minister for International Magical Cooperation. I had meant to personally thank everyone, either through the post of face to face; however, understandably, the sudden death of Minister Sumner has left me playing catch-up, and I have been extremely busy of the past several weeks. Things seem to be transitioning smoothly now, to the extent that I am able to take a few moments to write this out. There is still much work to be done, however.
